We are delighted to announce that Prof. Heidemarie Laurent has received grant R01HD093627 from the National Institute of Health. The project title is "Maternal Depression Calibrates Infant's Neuroendocrine, Autonomic, and Inflammatory Stress Responsiveness." The total cost of the project is $2,464,596.00. The purpose of this study is to determine how mothers depression calibrates their babies biological sensitivity to stress over time, and how this calibration translates into child emotional and behavioral problems. This will help to identify the roots of stress-related disorder and suggest targets for early intervention to interrupt the intergenerational transmission of stress-related health problems. Congratulations!
