Parents of 4- 8 year olds needed for mealtime planning PSA study

3/22/2011  8:00 am

We are looking for parents of young children to help us evaluate public service announcements (PSAs) designed to “help families enjoy less stressful meals together as a family at home.” These PSAs were created with the help of the Family Resiliency Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The study is being conducted by Professor Michelle Nelson and her ADV585 (Advertising Management Planning) class in the Department of Advertising at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

What will those who sign up for the study do?
They will respond to two online surveys. The first will focus on PSA evaluation, meal time behaviors, work-life balance, and media use and will take about 15 minutes.  A week later, the second survey will be sent to participants. This brief survey will ask a few questions about the ads and meal-time behaviors; it will take about 5 minutes.

Interested participants can choose to have their names entered into a random drawing to win one of two $50 Amazon gift cards. Odds of winning are approximately 1 out of 50. If you are interested in participating, please see the link below to the online consent form and survey. If you should have any questions, please send an email to Professor Michelle Nelson at

Who is eligible?
Any parent (aged 18 or older) who is the parent of a young child/children ages 4-8.
